All-new Kia Carnival: Key highlights

Dinamika Jaya Motors Sdn Bhd, Kia Malaysia’s new sole distributor, started accepting bookings for the new Carnival on 29th November 2021. No prices or info was revealed back then, however, the automaker confirmed a formal preview at the Drive Auto Fair at the Setia City Convention Centre, running from 3rd to 5th December.

Meanwhile, Kia updated its website and added the new Carinal along with all the information related to the SUV. Let's now discuss Kia's new SUVs highlights, but before that, it is important to know that Kia is offering the Carnival in one signal variant option - 2.2D 11-Seater.

Super stylish exterior

The new Carnival features a luxurious exterior design part of which is a set of futuristic headlamps that are embedded into the brand's signature tiger-nose grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, a broad dramatic stripe of rear combination tail lights and much more. Further, the sleek body lines not only make the SUV look super-rugged but also serve an aerodynamic purpose.

A 12.3-inch capacitive touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It allows users to view and select audio functions, like choosing audio sources, radio stations, and adjusting audio quality using controls mounted on the steering wheel.

Wireless smartphone charger lets one charge compatible mobile phones wirelessly.

Powerful & efficient engine

The Malaysia-spec Kia Carnival is powered by a Smartstream 2.2L turbo, CRDi, 4 Inline cylinders, DOHC mill making a maximum power of 199 hp at 3,800 rpm along with a peak torque of 440 Nm from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission unit.

Helping with the performance further is an E-shift knob, a drive mode selector, and paddle shifters.
