All-new Hyundai Bayon unveiled, check specs, features, & details
KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a while back that Hyundai announced the soon arrival of its new crossover, the Bayon. And now, as promised the automaker has introduced its latest crossover SUV that is small-on-the-outside, but big-on-the-inside. Hyundai has packed the Bayon with smart features, best-in-class safety, and connectivity features, and an efficient engine.
Let's get to know the new Hyundai Bayon in detail, starting with the design -
2021 Hyundai Bayon design
The new Bayon benefits from the brand's Sensuous Sportiness design language which is combined with Hyundai's award-winning SUV heritage. The car's eye-catching proportions and sharp lines create a stunning impression.
The front gets a wide grille that harmonizes very-well with the sleek air-intake. The arrow-shaped headlamps give the car a sharp look, also the narrow LED DRLs give the front a one-of-a-kind look.
The side profile benefits from strong graphic features that instantly draw attention towards the car. The powerful c-pillar and sporty wedge-shaped profile make the Bayon a hard-to-miss vehicle.
The rear like the front comes with some stunning design elements like arrow-shaped LED rear combination lamps connected via a red accent line, aggressive bumper, and more.
Exterior colour hues include Phantom Blak Pearl andAurora Grey Pearl. Also, two-tone schemes are available with contrasting Black roof, the shades are Polar White, Mangrove Green Pearl, Intense Blue Pearl, Polar White, Elemental Brass Metallic, Sleek Silver Metallic Aqua Turquoise Metallic, and Dragon Red Pearl.

On the inside, the Bayon offers plenty of styles as well as room for the driver and all the occupants. The seating position is high and so you get great all-round visibility. In addition to maximizing passenger comfort, Hyundai offers a big boot. Inspired by the shapes found in nature, the designers have crafted a modern, well-it ambience. Further, the sleek horizontal blades give the dashboard an unconventionally stylish look and feel.

2021 Hyundai Bayon engine specs
The all-new Bayon is offered in two engine options - a 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol mill with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance pumps out a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 171.6 Nm. Without mild-hybrid electrification, the same mill makes 100 PS. Next, up is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated MPi engine that churns out 84 PS and 117.6 Nm.
The 1.0L mill is paired either with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 1.2L unit, on the other hand, is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
2021 Hyundai Bayon safety
The Bayon benefits from an extensive list of Hyundai SmartSense safety features which is a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Thes best part is that many of the safety features are standard. The list includes - Lane Following Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist.
The safety pack also includes - Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Rear Occupant Alert Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Reverse, and Parking Assist for semi-autonomous parking.
