Exterior
In terms of aesthetic upgrades, the new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton benefits from the ‘Beast Mode’ design concept. It features an evolved Dynamic Shield fascia with a three-dimensional grille bracketed by new 3-light L-shaped LED lights and new daytime running lights. On the sides, the vehicle gets robust doors with more durable handles, wider side steps, and prominent fender panels, adding to the stability and toughness.

Engine
Speaking of the mechanical bits, the revamped pickup truck gets a newly-developed 4N16 high-efficiency clean diesel engine. The said mill is a 2.4-litre turbo diesel unit tuned for three different power outputs. In the high-output form, the engine kicks out a maximum power of 204 PS at 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 470 Nm from 1,500 to 2,750 rpm. The other two low-output tunings make 184 PS/430 Nm and 150 PS/330 Nm respectively.
Sending power to the wheels is either a six-speed automatic transmission with the highly acclaimed Sports mode or a six-speed manual transmission with a shift-by-wire system. The pickup continues to feature the Super Select AWD system and Easy Select AWD system as its predecessors, which are mated to a Limited Slip Differential (LSD). For better cornering performance, the automaker has also added a new Active Yaw Control (AYC) to the Super Select 4WD-II system.
Suspension
Also new for the next-gen Mitsubishi Triton is a new suspension system. It comprises a double-wishbone structure at the front with an upper mounting arm positioned at a higher angle to increase the stroke by 20 mm, resulting in improved road-holding and ride comfort. At the rear lies a lighter leaf spring system coupled with thicker shock absorbers promising greater ride comfort.
Safety
The new Triton comes equipped with a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, including
- Adaptive cruise control
- Blind spot warning
- Forward collision mitigation
- Lane change assist
- Rear cross traffic alert
Also part of the kit is Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
