KUALA LUMPUR: Australia has become lucky with Toyota launching the all-new 2023 Hilux Rouge. The updated pickup was revealed back in July this year with several updates running inside-out.

2023 Toyota Hilux Rogue details -

Engine

The new Hilux Rogue is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine generating maximum power of 204 PS along with a peak torque of 500 Nm. The drive is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The pickup comes with a four-wheel drive system.

Design

For the model year 2023, the pickup truck gets a significant redesign with inclusions like wide mudguards and over-fenders. Also part of the kit is a new front body extension that integrates with the front bumper superbly. The rear dampers have been moved towards the wheels as the rear axle is lengthened. For the first time, the Hilux gets a rear stabilizer bar that improves roll rigidity.

The car now rides on 18-inch alloys that come with a darkened finish.

Braking & Handling

The pickup’s suspension setup has been revised with an increased track of 140 mm front and rear. Adding to the vehicle’s efficiency is the car's extended front suspension arm and stabilizer bar along with the adjusted front damper angle. The car offers better sterling feel while changing lanes and cornering.

Taking care of braking is front disc brakes with a larger diameter of 432 mm and ventilated disc units at the rear.

Other features

Being the most expensive Hilux variant, the Rouge comes loaded with several amazing features. For instance, heated front seats, motorized roller cover for the bed, marine-grade bed lining, a resin sports bar, perforated leather upholstery, an integrated trailer wiring harness, a panoramic view monitor, tow ball, and a nine-speaker sound system.

Colour options

The new Hilux Rogue is offered in nine colours including Oxide Bronze, Glacier White, Silver Sky, Frosted White, Eclipse Black, Graphite, Feverish Red, Nebula Black, and Saturn Blue.
