Let’s get to know the 2023 BMW M2 a little bit better -

    2023 BMW M2: Engine

As can be expected, the M2 packs some serious performance underneath the skin. All thanks to a 3.0-litre inline-six engine with M TwinPower Turbo tech. The unit generates a maximum power of 460 hp at 6,250 rpm along with a peak torque of 550 Nm from 2,650 - 5,870 rpm.

Compared to the much hotter M2 CS and the previous gen M2 Competition, the new M2 offers more power (444 hp and 405 hp respectively).

    2023 BMW M2: Transmission

The power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission as standard. The gearbox comes with a Drivelogic function with three shift settings, one each for comfort, sporty driving, and track configuration. Also available is a 6-speed manual transmission.

    2023 BMW M2: Performance

With the above-mentioned configuration the compact coupe can complete the century sprint in just 4.1 seconds and 4.3 seconds with 8-speed AT and 6-speed MT respectively.

    2023 BMW M2: Driving dynamics

The all-new M2 sports a rear-wheel-drive system and comes equipped with several driving dynamic enhancing features. The list includes BMW Traction Control and Active M Differential. While the former allows the driver to probe the car’s performance limits by setting individual intervention thresholds for wheel slip limitation. The Active M Differential at the rear axle, on the other hand, generates a locking effect of up to 100 per cent when required. All this optimizes traction on road, thus offering different adhesion levels for the left- and right-hand rear wheels along with improving power transfer.

The coupe’s setup also features - a double-joint spring strut front axle and a five-link rear axle with M-specific kinematics. Also Part of the kit is an adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers, Dynamic Stability Control with M Dynamic Mode, M Servotronic steering with variable ratio, and M Compound brakes with six-piston, floating-calliper brakes at the rear, and fixed-calliper brake at the front.

The all-new M2 coupe is surely a superb-looking car with several design elements that gives it a sporty yet subtle look. The front fascia gives away a familiar M look with features like a massive, frameless kidney grille with horizontal bars, and a three-section lower air intake with rectangular contours. The side profile showcases an equally striking picture supported by new 19-inch light alloy wheels at the front and 20-inch alloys at the rear. If required, customers can opt for track tyres from the factory.

The rear end is no less with the boot lid getting a spoiler lip along with quad tailpipes, diffuser inserts, and vertically arranged reflectors.
