All-new 2022 Perodua Alza: In Pictures
Perodua launched its new MPV, the 2022 Alza in the local market recently. The car’s launch was attended by Malaysian Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, and Daihatsu President, Soichiro Okudaira.
The automaker’s latest launch created a lot of buzz in the market prior to its arrival with over 30,000 bookings in place. How does Perodua plan to complete these orders? The company has planned a production volume of 3,000 cars per month, thus resulting in a 10-month-long waiting period for the Alza. But fret not, as Perodua will ramp up production to meet strong demands.
The new Alza was launched in three variant options, starting with the base X, mid-spec H, and range-topping AV that apparently is in most demand. They retail for RM 62,500, RM 68,000, and RM 75,500 respectively, on the road without insurance and with SST.

The new Alza measures 4,425 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, and 1,670 in height. Its ground clearance and wheelbase are 160 mm and 2,750 mm respectively. Compared to the previous-gen model, it is 205 mm longer and 35 mm wider.

It can be configured in the following modes depending on the requirement - 7-seater mode (with ample legroom for all passengers), a 5-seater mode, a 2-seater mode, flexi mode, and rest mode.
The new Alza offers a smooth and fuel-efficient drive thanks to its 1.5-litre 4-cyl, DOHC EFI with Dual VVT-i engine. The said unit generates a maximum power of 105 hp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 138 Nm at 4,200 rpm. The mill is paired to the world’s first split CVT system, D-CVT gearbox with manual mode. Also, it offers a fuel efficiency of 22 kmpl and three drive modes - Eco, Normal, and Power.
At the front, enhancing its look is a chrome and glossy black front grille with the Perodua logo in the centre. It surely makes a striking impression on the onlooker.
