Alfa Romeo Giulia QV betters BMW M4 at Nurburgring
Kuala Lumpur: It may come off as a dream come true from Alfa Romeo. The flagship Alfa Romeo Giulia QV seems to have finally accomplished the task of defeating BMW M4/M3 on the much acclaimed Nurburgring circuit. According to the popular Italian auto portal, BlogDiMotori, Alfa Romeo Guilia QV completed 20.8 km long track in 7 minutes 43 seconds bettering its direct rivals.
Alfa Romeo was revealed off the curtains in June 2015, Giulia QV comes packed with a strong 3.0 litre 6-cyliner turbocharged aluminium engine delivering a huge power of 510 PS. 0-100 kmph speed mark is breached in just 3.9 seconds and power is transmitted throughout the body to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
The competitor, BMW M4 clocked this circuit with a time of 7 minutes 52 seconds, however, it is important to note that the power output of M4 is 431 HP, considerably lower than Giulia QV. This power output is delivered from a 3.0-litre straight-6 cylinder turbocharged engine. However, there is an advantage towards the German in terms of quicker gear shifting through a double clutch gearbox which means with an added power, Alfa Romeo has finally found its missing X-Factor bettering its arch-nemesis.
However, there is a typical Hollywood-controversy surrounding this story. The said Alfa Romeo Guilia SV was said to be stocked with an engine releasing 540 PS power instead of the factory claimed numbers of 510 PS. Whether or not this story is legit, is a different story for a different time.
