Ahead of Malaysia, Xpeng launches G6 EV in Singapore
KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese automaker Xpeng is ready to set up its shop in Malaysia this year. It has started teasing its first electric car which is said to be the G6. But, ahead of landing on Malaysian shores, the Xpeng G6 has made its way to Singapore.

With the ROI now open in Malaysia, the Xpeng G6 is expected to launch by the end of this year.The Xpeng EV is offered in two variants in Singapore viz. Standard Range and Long Range, priced at SGD 209,999 (approx RM 725k) and SGD 224,999 (approx RM 777k), respectively. The mentioned prices are on the road and include COE charges.
Based on the SEPA 2.0 platform, the Xpeng G6 measures 4,753 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.
Both variants of the Singapore-spec EV are powered by a rear-mounted electric motor, generating 258 PS on the Standard Range and 286 PS on the Long Range variant. The peak torque for both is the same, at 440 Nm.
As for the battery pack, the Standard Range comes equipped with a 66 kWh LFP battery pack, which provides a range of 435 km. The Long Range variant, on the other hand, features a bigger 87.5 kWh NCM battery pack that offers a 570 km driving range. The EV underpins 800V architecture and the most advanced software technology.
Developed in consultation with Sci-Fi writer Liu Cixin, the Xpeng G6 boasts head-turning looks. It sports a fastback style with sleek lines inspired by tech-fluid aesthetics.
In terms of features, the Chinese EV is kitted with the following advanced bits -

- Xpilot 2.5 advanced driver assistance suite (including adaptive cruise control with turning support, autonomous emergency braking, lane centring assist, blind spot monitoring, and automated parking)
