50 units of modified Proton Iriz delivered to Metro Driving Academy

KUALA LUMPUR: Proper driving training with the requisite driving skills and an in-depth understanding of the traffic rules provides a solid foundation required for safe driving practice. Keeping in mind the same, the local automaker Proton has recently provided 50 units of the Iriz hatchback to Metro Driving Academy. 

To make the hatchbacks fit for the driving school, the subsidiary of Proton Global Services ACE modified the cars in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the Road Transport Department.

“PROTON is proud to continue to play a role in helping to educate and train new Malaysian drivers. The Proton Iriz is an excellent choice for new drivers as its combination of manoeuvrability, compact dimensions, and safety make it unimposing from behind the wheel. We are appreciative of the trust shown by Metro Driving Academy and hope this will encourage more driving schools to consider adding a Proton to their fleet,” said Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton.

Proton handed over the cars to the Managing Director of Metro Driving Academy, Encik Mat Aris Bakar in an official ceremony; the cars will be used by learners at the academy’s Subang and Puchong campuses. Established in 1998, the Metro Driving Academy, is a licensed driving academy that has the “Best Driving Academy” and “5-Star Rated Driving Academy” awards under its belt.

What makes the Proton Iriz suitable for learning to drive are -

• 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating with a comprehensive list of safety features like reinforced body structure using Hot Press Formed steel, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, and Hill Hold Assist 
• Reverse camera and parking sensors providing visual and audible parking assistance to the learners
• ECO mode switch which encourages more efficient driving and results in better fuel consumption
