Not only that, but it is also the widest one and thus has a strong presence on the road. However, in terms of length, the Honda CR-V outperforms the Dashing by approximately 100 mm.
Powered by Chery’s engine technology
As Jetour is a sub-brand of Chery, the Dashing SUV will come equipped with a Chery-sourced drivetrain setup. It will most likely get a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine, which generates 156 PS of maximum power at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of peak torque from 1,750 to 4,000 rpm. This mill is tied up with a 6-speed DCT gearbox.
Another possibility is a 1.6-litre TGDI turbocharged engine (Chery Kunpeng Series), which we can also find under the Chery Omoda 5 and Tiggo 7 Pro in Malaysia. Mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, this engine kicks out 197 PS and 290 Nm of torque.
Part of Jetour’s "Travel+" series
Jetour Dashing is part of the brand’s “Travel+” series, including models like Traveller, and T2. Unlike traditional SUVs, the “Travel+” lineup is designed for road trips, long-distance travel, and family getaways. It focuses on comfort, space, and intelligent tech that enhances the travel experience.

Based on the 'Travel+' concept, the vehicles are scenario-based and platform-driven products. They offer tailored solutions to customers as per their needs and preferences. These include adventure-ready features, tech-focused customization, and seamless connectivity to enhance the driving experience.

Will be offered as a CKD model
After a small initial first batch, the Jetour Dashing will be offered as a locally assembled model in Malaysia. However, the name of the brand’s local assembly partner has not yet been disclosed.
Local production means lower taxes and duties, which may result in competitive pricing. The local assembly will also ensure better after-sales support with improved parts availability and servicing infrastructure.
Jetour made its global RHD products debut at the 2024 Malaysia Auto Show, which marked the brand’s official entry into the global RHD market with its 'Travel+' strategy.

Being the second-largest automotive market in Southeast Asia, Malaysia is a strategic RHD market for Jetour. In the next 5 years, the company aims to become a mainstream auto brand in Malaysia with 80 sales networks and a 150,000-unit sales target/
“JETOUR will build the whole industry chain in Malaysia, including marketing, services, finance, local manufacturing, and parts localization, and will export to other markets in Southeast Asia,” confirmed Kevin Xu, Vice President of Jetour International.
Summing up
The Jetour Dashing SUV is a travel-friendly, stylish, and capable SUV that seems to cause a stir in the growing compact SUV segment in Malaysia.
