2025 Toyota Camry makes official debut in the US

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new ninth-gen Toyota Camry has made its official debut in the US market. The generation upgrade brings to the table a fresh new look, feature-packed convenience, a hybrid powertrain, and a re-tuned suspension. The 2025 Toyota Camry is expected to hit the US dealerships in spring 2024.

Let’s know the all-new 2025 Toyota Camry in detail.

The new Camry is Toyota’s first-ever sedan that gains a combination of a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine and fifth-gen Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). The mill is paired with two electric motors producing a total system output of 228 PS on front-wheel drive models and 235 PS on all-wheel drive models. The AWD system offers additional traction when needed, like during inclement weather or while cornering claims Toyota. Both powertrains are mated to an electronic CVT and a lithium-ion battery pack.

The car also gets a retuned suspension offering an enhanced responsiveness and agile handling. With the sport grades come a specific sport-tuned suspension system with increased comfort.

The ninth-gen Toyota Camry is designed by CALTY’s Newport Beach, California, and Ann Arbor, Michigan studios. It features a new hammerhead front fascia with slim LED headlights, daytime running lights and taillights, and 18-inch multi-spoke black-finished alloy wheels (19-inch black and smoke grey-finished on higher trims). 

The sport variants benefit from racing-inspired functional aerodynamic air ducts, front-side canards, and a rear diffuser. Also part of the kit is a dual-tip exhaust and a rear lip spoiler. The upgraded colour palette comprises two new shades - Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal shades.

• Smart-key with a push-to-start button
• Dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear air vents
• Driver’s memory seat and memory side view mirrors
• Automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers 
• Power tilt and slide panoramic roof with a power-retractable sunshade
• USB-A and USB-C ports

The new Camry is also equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 pack, including several advanced safety systems such as - Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. Also part of the safety kit is the Premium Plus Package, which adds -
