2024 Toyota Hiace SLWB bookings open in Malaysia; starting from RM 169,000

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has started accepting orders for the all-new Hiace SLWB (Super Long Wheelbase). Priced at RM 169,000, the new 10-seater window van is designed for businesses seeking a reliable and spacious vehicle, as well as for families looking for a comfortable and safe mode of transport.

As its name suggests, the new Hiace features an extended wheelbase of 3,860 mm, providing a generous interior space for both passengers and cargo, ideal for long-distance travel. Furthermore, it exceeds its predecessor in other dimensions as well, measuring 5,915 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 2,280 mm in height, representing a significant increase of 1,220 mm in length, 255 mm in width, and 300 mm in height.

This enhancement in size and design highlights the Hiace SLWB's evolution, promising comfort, and efficiency for every journey, reflecting its leap towards improved practical utility, says UMWT.

The van is powered by a 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 177 PS at 3,400 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm between 1,600 to 2,400 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission mated to the Sequential Shift system.

Other notable features of the new Toyota van are a Sliding Doorstep Lamp, built-in Front Digital Video Recorder (DVR), reverse camera, and 3-point seatbelts for all seats, enhancing visibility, security, and passenger safety. As for infotainment, customers get a 7.0-inch Display Audio head unit with a two-speaker audio system.
