Key Highlights of the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander Facelift

    Updated Exterior Design

The facelifted Xpander sports a refreshed look with Mitsubishi's signature Dynamic Shield front fascia. This includes a redesigned grille and repositioned LED lights. The traditional blocky headlights have been replaced with sleeker, T-shaped units, while the rear also receives updates with new T-shaped taillights, an illuminated tube, a revised bumper, and a tailgate spoiler.

The side profile is enhanced with new 17-inch alloy wheels and silver side skirts, giving the MPV a more modern and dynamic appearance. The main difference on the outside between the two variants are between the black and silver trim at the lower portion of the MPV as well as the exclusion of the big rear spoiler at the back for the base variant.

    Size and Dimensions

The 2024 Xpander measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, and 1,750 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. Notably, the Xpander boasts the highest ground clearance in its class, sitting at 220 mm, offering better road presence and versatility for Malaysian road conditions.

    Interior Upgrades

The cabin of the 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander facelift has received a notable upgrade, giving it a more premium and modern feel. At the center of these improvements is the new Horizontal Axis Design dashboard, which adds a sleek and sophisticated touch to the interior. One of the standout features is the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, making smartphone integration effortless.

Practicality and convenience have also been addressed with the inclusion of an Electric Parking Brake that comes with automatic brake hold, adding to the ease of driving. The redesigned steering wheel offers a fresh, more ergonomic design, while the addition of a wireless charging pad is a welcome modern feature for tech-savvy users.

The climate control system has been updated with new toggle switches and LCD displays, allowing for easier adjustments. The centre console has also been enlarged, now featuring integrated USB ports for rear passengers, which is a practical touch for families on the go.

The main difference between the base and top tier variant is the level of kit provided, with the base variant not being kitted out with a 360-degree camera and fabric seats, wireless charger and dash cam. The higher trim Xpander also comes with soft pads with synthetic leather and real stitching for the armrest and door trim.

    Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Xpander facelift continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre MIVEC naturally aspirated engine that delivers 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels.

    Safety Features

Safety remains the same as the outgoing model, with the Xpander equipped with two SRS airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), hill start assist, active stability control, traction control, an emergency stop signal system, and cruise control, ensuring peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike.

    Warranty and colour options

The 2024 Mitsubishi Xpander is locally assembled at Mitsubishi's plant in Pekan and is offered with a five years unlimited mileage warranty. Colour options include the new Graphite Gray, Red Metallic, Diamond Black Mica and Quartz White Pearl.
