2024 Le Mans 24 Hours results out, Ferrari succeeds second time in a row
KUALA LUMPUR: This year’s 24-hours showdown held at Circuit de la Sarthe registered participation of 23 cars from across 9 constructors in the Hypercar class. And like last year, this time too the Prancing Horse came out as the winner.
Yes, Ferrari has claimed its second successive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Overcoming the intense fight against the likes of Toyota and Porsche, the Ferrari 499P Hypercar did it for the automaker.
The #50 499P race car was driven by Nickas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina and it completed 311 laps in total. Compared to its closest competitor, the car won by a 14-second margin.
On the second position is the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid which was driven by Nyck de Vries, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez. The third position was acquired by #51 Ferrari of James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessandro Pier Guidi.
Coming to the LMP2 category, the #22 United Autosport of Bijoy Garg, Oliver Jarvis and Nolan Seigel came in first, followed by #34 Enter Europol Competition of Vladislav Lomko, Clement Novalak and Jakub Smiechowski and the #28 IDEC Sport of Reshad de Gerus, Paul Lafargue and Job van Uitert.
LMGT3, the third and final category triumphed by #91 Manthey EMA of Richard Lietz, Morris Schuring and Yasser Shahin.
Coming back to Ferrari, this win has brought the brand's 24 Hours of Le Mans victory count to eleven.
