2023 Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric: In Pictures

Volvo Car Malaysia with the recent launch of the all-new C40 Recharge Pure Electric expanded its electric line-up to two models (another one being the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric).

Though we have covered the C40’s launch in detail, today we’ll be shedding light on its different features, all supported via pictures to give you a better understanding of Volvo's latest EV.

The C40 Recharge Pure Electric benefits from a striking design language that will definitely make heads turn on the road. Overall the car enjoys a slimmed crossover silhouette.

Creating a distinct, visual appeal at the front is the car’s unique body-colored grille frame. The unit's packed design gives out its electric profile as an EV doesn’t need as much airflow as an ICE-powered car. The car’s front end also gets - signature LED headlights (flick automatically between full & dipped beams to avoid dazzling the other driver) and fog lamps.

The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric car’s side profile is driven by a massive set of 19-inch 5-double spoke black diamond cut wheels. Also, the high-gloss black side window trim adds a touch of dynamic exclusivity.

The rear profile of the EV is no less impressive, especially with the vertical design of LED tail lights which enhance the sleek roof line of the car.

The cabin showcases a contemporary vibe with a soothing glow, thanks to the topography-inspired translucent black-lit decor.

In addition to being fully electric, the car’s leather-free interior adds to its sustainability factor. The entire cabin is made without the use of leather and is a live example of ‘responsible luxury’. Other added features on the C40’s seating configuration include - a power driver seat with memory, a power passenger seat, power-folding rear head restraints, mechanical release second seat row, manual cushion extensions (for driver & passenger), and power 4-way lumbar support.

The C40’s charcoal headlining and cabin inserts call for an even more dynamic and cockpit-like feel inside the car. Part of the latter is door panels, tunnel console sides, and the lower part of the dashboard.

Catching everyone’s attention is the EV leather-free three-spoke sports steering wheel which is hand stitched, and wrapped in synthetic material. Adding to its luxurious look and feel is its satin trim, color-coordinated stitching, and glossy black decor. Also, the unit comes with electric heating which comes in handy in cold weather.

Maintaining a comfortable cabin temperature automatically is the EVs powerful two-zone climate system. The best part is the driver and passenger side vents can be set independently as per need. For the rear passengers, the C40 gets floor air outlets and separate rear adjustable air vents.

On the dashboard is fitted with a large 9-inch touchscreen center display that allows the user intuitively control several car functions. The system comes with built-in Google apps and services including Google Play store, Google Assistant, and Google Maps.

The C40 benefits from Volvo’s new-gen 12-inch driver information display that provides all the essential driver info. The system can be easily tailored to the driver's needs and current driving situation.

The C40 comes standard with a fixed panoramic roof that has laminated, tinted glass, thus providing protection against glare and UV radiation. In addition, the panoramic roof also creates an airy, more natural environment inside. It also helps maintain a comfortable environment and contributes to a noise-free ride experience.

The C40 with its numerous storage areas along with smart fastening & loading features offer passengers a versatile solution for their active lifestyle.

The latest Volvo EV comes fitted with the brand’s advanced air purifier system that prevents up to 80% of hazardous PM2.5 particles from entering the cabin. Thus allowing the driver and passenger to enjoy healthier air quality. It can even monitor particle and pollen levels outside.

The C40 comes equipped with the Harman Kardon Premium Sound system (optional) which offers a refined sound performance no matter the gender. With 600W digital amplifiers and 13 hi-fi speakers, and air-ventilated subwoofers, the passengers enjoy an immersive sound experience. Also, part of the kit is a unique sound processing software (Dirac® Unison Tuning) which optimizes the response of each individual speaker.

The car comes with a power tailgate which can open/close conveniently via remote control or via buttons on the dashboard or tailgate. Other add-on features include - can be programmed to open to a lower height than maximum, integrated illumination lights under the tailgate, and a hands-free opening/closing function.

The pure electric Volvo EV offers a smart extra storage space with the front load compartment. It is the perfect spot for charging cables, protecting them from dust, dirt, and moisture.

The new pure electric Volvo Recharge has no gear change option, just a seamless & smooth flow of power for a more comfortable, controlled, and intuitive experience. Its shift-by-wire single-speed transmission flick between Reverse, Neutral, and Drive positions with just one signal movement.

The EV’s advanced driver assistance technology helps drivers maintain a safe distance from the car ahead by adapting the speed, keeping the car central, and even bringing the car to a complete stop in event of an unresponsive driver.
