Though the automaker is yet to mention the powertrain detail the acceleration and range details clearly point towards one particular unit. It is the automaker’s dual-motor P8 AWD electric powertrain that also powers the ongoing XC40 Recharge Pure Electric. The mill in the latter churns out a maximum power output of 408 PS along with a peak torque of 660 Nm. The power is supplied by an underfloor-mounted lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 78 kWh.
On the charging front, the EV is expected to support both Type 2 AC and CCS2 DC fast charging (from 0 to 80% in just 40 mins).
The Volvo C40 Recharge might look and feel quite similar to the XC40 Recharge. However, while the latter is available in both electric and internal combustion engines, the former is a pure EV.
