2023 Toyota GR86 now on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: First unveiled in April 2021, the Toyota GR86 has finally landed on Malaysian shores as a fully imported (CBU) model from Japan. The sports car is a replacement model for the GT86 and a sister model to the Subaru BRZ. It is offered in two versions - Manual and Automatic, priced at RM 295,000 and RM 305,000, respectively. The price also includes a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty as standard. 

Let’s get to know the key highlights of the all-new 2023 Toyota GR86 - 

• The new GR86 is powered by a 2.4-litre boxer engine that churns out a maximum power of 237 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Compared to the predecessor, it shows a bump of 37 PS and 45 Nm
• The power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission paired with Torsen Limited Slip Differential
• Performance-wise, the car hits the century sprint in 6.3 seconds in the case of MT while with AT, it takes 6.8 seconds 

• With an updated chassis underneath, it measures 4,265 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width, 1,310 mm in height, and spans a 2,575 mm long wheelbase
• The new Toyota GR86 looks striking and playful thanks to the “Matrix Grille”, functional air vents positioned on the front bumper and fenders and 18-inch wheels shod with 215/40 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres
• There are four exterior colours to choose from - Ignition Red, Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, and Magnetic Grey Metallic

• Inside the cabin, the Japanese sports car is equipped with a 7-inch, fully-digital instrument panel, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, leather and suede combination upholstery, dual-zone climate control, Vehicle Telematics System, GR badges, seven airbags and more
• Part of the Active Safety Suite are autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, blind spot monitoring, and automatic high beams
