2023 Hyundai Creta launched in Malaysia, check full details

After opening the ordering bookings for the all-new Creta earlier this month, Hyundai Sime Darby Motors has finally launched the new B-segment SUV in Malaysia. The automaker offers the Hyundai Creta in a sole 1.5 Plus variant fully imported model from Indonesia. It is priced at RM 149,888 (on the road without insurance). 

Let’s check out this new Korean SUV in detail.

2023 Hyundai Creta exterior

The Hyundai Creta features a striking and modern exterior design with bold and sculpted lines and a well-proportioned body. On the front lies a Black ‘Parametric Jewel’ grille and sleek LED headlights (automatic), giving the vehicle a strong and dynamic presence on the road. Also, part of the exterior package are LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, 17-inch wheels, and power-adjustable side mirrors with indicator lights and auto-fold functionality.

The all-new Hyundai Creta comes in five colour options - Dragon Red Pearl, Galaxy Blue Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Titan Grey Metallic, and Midnight Black Pearl.

2023 Hyundai Creta interior

The cabin of the latest Hyundai SUV is spacious and well-designed with premium materials and easy-to-use controls. The dashboard hosts a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10.25-inch TFT LCD digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The latter supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The other creature comforts we get inside the new Creta are - single-zone Auto air conditioning controls (with rear vents), leather-wrapped gear lever, electronic parking brake with auto hold system, tilt & telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, remote start function, LED ambient lights, rear USB charging ports, fabric upholstery, and four speakers.

2023 Hyundai Creta engine specifications

Powering the new Korean SUV is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Smartstream engine that kicks out a maximum power output of 115 hp at 6,300 rpm and a peak torque of 144 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via Intelligent Variable Transmission paired with steering paddles. Four selectable drive modes are - Eco, Normal, Sport, and Smart.

Performance-wise, the Creta accelerates from zero to 100 kmph in 12 seconds and clocks a top speed of 170 kmph.

The SUV comes loaded with a wide range of systems ensuring the safety of its passengers. These include six airbags, an anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, power child lock, a parking assist system, ISOFIX, and a Hyundai SmartSense ADAS pack. 2023 Hyundai Creta suspension & braking

As for suspension, the car comes equipped with the MacPherson strut on the front and Coupled Torsion Beam Axle on the rear. The braking duties are handled by the 15-inch front and 14-inch rear ventilated disc brakes.

2023 Hyundai Creta warranty

On the purchase of the Creta, Hyundai Sime Darby Motors offers a 5-year/300,000 km warranty and 3 years/50,000 km complimentary service. However, these extended warranty terms are for the first 150 buyers only.

The new Hyundai falls in the B-segment category where it fights neck-to-neck competition with the Proton X50, Honda HR-V, and Toyota Corolla Cross.
