2023 BMW X6 facelift gets several exterior, interior, powertrain & safety updates
KUALA LUMPUR: Recently BMW introduced the X5 facelift which we have already discussed in detail. However, there was another car the German automaker updated alongside the X5 SUV, the X6, which I will talk about here.

Let’s get to know the 2023 BMW X6 facelift in detail -
Exterior
The new X6 showcases somewhat similar visual revisions as the 2023 X5. So, we see arrow-shaped DRLs within the headlamp enclosure, carried-over Iconic Glow illuminated kidney grille with an octagonal design with blacked-out sections.
The X6 M Sport trim now comes standard with M high-gloss Shadowline trim, M side skirts, Dark Shadow finished rear apron.
The M Sport Pro variants (specified on all X6 LCI trims) get a kidney grille with the M logo and double bars, quad-exit exhaust tailpipes, and a high-gloss black rear spoiler.
Interior
The BMW X6 LCI joins the other models in the range by adopting the BMW Curved Display consisting of a 12.3-inch instrument display alongside a 14.9-inch central display. The cabin trim includes Sensafin (a leather-like material) for surfacing the instrument panel, ambient lighting below the trim elements at the front, and a graphic with the X6 logo. The cars with front sports seats as standard.
The car comes equipped with BMW Operating System 8 which takes advantage of the touchscreen control functionality and takes away with physical control.
Available as optional features are - BMW Individual merino extended or full leather upholstery, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, active seat ventilation and massage function, “thermo” function cupholders, and Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof with LED illumination.
Engine
The X6 facelift gains refreshed powertrain choices with every petrol and diesel model now with mild-hybrid power.
The X6 xDrive40i models get a 48V battery which adds 12 hp and 200 Nm of torque and is used for electric-only driving at low speeds.
In xDrive30d models get a hybridized 3.0-liter, straight-six diesel unit putting out 294 hp and 670 Nm of torque.
The xDrive40i is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six petrol unit generating 375 hp and 540 Nm of torque.
The range-topping M60i features a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with mild hybrid power making 523 hp and 750 Nm of torque.
Safety
On the safety front, the car benefits from an enhanced front-collision warning system with cyclists, pedestrians, and oncoming traffic detection. Other features are -
