2022 Nissan Patrol Nismo scheduled to arrive on March 31
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan Patrol is amongst those fortunate vehicles that have managed to achieve an iconic place for itself in the auto industry. The SUV has been up and running for about 70-years now with the arrival date back to 1951 in Japan. What started as aCheck out the new Nissan Fairlady Z; fresh images outhumble beginning is now a benchmark for others to follow. The kind of global appeal the Patrol has created is unprecedented. While in the United States it is called Armada, its popularity can be best seen in the Middle East where the automaker has been selling the Nismo version since 2015. And now, the same Nismo version is getting a facelift.
Nissan shared the said information via a short teaser video that only gave us a few highlights of the upcoming SUV. However, its complete design theme, features, specs, engine, and other details will be revealed on March 31 with its debut.
The current-gen Patrol model received a facelift in Sept 2019, however, back then the Nismo version wasn't part of the deal. For the upcoming facelift, the Patrol Nismo is expected to benefit a lot. For instance, it is expected to feature a revised front fascia with a V-Motion grille, notched headlamps, large intakes, and red Nismo trim all around.
At the rear, the SUV will get revised tail lights placed above the Nismo-specific layout that includes a bold black diffuser and quad exhaust tips with cutouts. The red trim surrounds the exhaust and runs around the entire car base. The SUV is expected to run on racy 22-inch Rays wheels, a carryover from the previous-gen model.
Similarly, the engine might be carried forward too, i.e., 5.6-litre V8 mill pumping a maximum power of 428 hp on Nismo.
The Patrol update is only limited to the Middle East, and it's extremely unlikely to be extended elsewhere.
