2022 Mitsubishi Outlander set for debut on Amazon Live next week

KUALA LUMPUR: After a long teaser campaigning started in November last year, Mitsubishi has finally announced the much-anticipated global debut of the all-new Outlander SUV. And guess what, the virtual reveal will take place on Amazon Live. Yes, the Japanese automaker has teamed up with online shopping giant platform Amazon for the world premiere of its latest model on February 16. To announce this, Mitsubishi revealed a teaser video showing a massive cardboard box seated up with Amazon Prime tapes. 

This is a first-of-its-kind collaboration and the 2022 Outlander will be the first vehicle ever unveiled on Amazon Live, which is a QVC-style channel presenting live streams of the popular products in a TV-style demonstration and hosting.

Explaining about the upcoming Outlander, Mitsubishi says that the SUV is developed under the "I-Fu-Do-Do" concept which means "authentic and majestic.” The SUV’s rugged and bold exterior design signals a new direction for the company, while its interior offers an upscale and quiet escape from the outside world. It also features an updated version of the brand’s rally-proven Super All-Wheel-Control all-wheel-drive system.

"The debut of the all-new 2022 Outlander caps off the reimagining of the entire Mitsubishi Motors lineup in the United States," said Mark Chaffin, the chief operating officer for MMNA. "We started the product-led reinvention of the company with the redesigned Mirage and Mirage G4, followed by a new powertrain for the Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid, a host of safety features added to the Outlander Sport, the reimagined Eclipse Cross, and very soon, the all-new 2022 Outlander."

He further added that the company’s collaboration with Amazon underscores the game-changing spirit at the heart of this car as well as its brand.

As part of the launch celebration, the automaker will give away a brand new Outlander to one lucky winner. For which, entries may be placed from February 16, 2021, to March 31, 2021.

Mitsubishi also confirmed that the first lot of the 2022 Outlanders will soon make its way to the US market. About the local market, we hope that the next-generation update will arrive here soon.
