Honda’s answer to the top-selling Proton X50 and Toyota Corolla Cross, the new HR-V hit the Malaysian showrooms in July. It comes in four variants - S, Turbo E, Turbo V, and RS e:HEV with a price ranging between RM 114,800 and RM 140,800.

The revamped HR-V appears stylish and premium compared to its predecessor and the credit goes to its elevated design language and the LED lights all around. Honda offers the Walk Away Auto Lock system with the newly introduced HR-V. Once you get 2 metres away from the vehicle with the keys with you, this system senses it and automatically locks the doors. This means now you never have to worry about forgetting to lock the car again.

Hands-Free Power Tailgate with Walkaway Close function

Honda offers the first in the segment “Hands-Free Power Tailgate with Walkaway Close function” with the new HR-V. This system activates the sensor when you raise your foot below the rear bumper and opens the boot. It also closes automatically when you walk away from the vehicle with the 'Walkaway Close Switch' switched ON.

Dual-zone auto air-conditioning with Honda-first Air diffusion system

The sophisticated interiors of the new HR-V get a dual-zone auto air-conditioning system that customises the cabin temperature to the personal preference of the driver and passengers for amazing comfort. The two-zone climate control is paired with the Honda-first Air Diffusion System, which offers better cooling circulation for all passengers in the cabin, and works only on the side vents. 

Multi-utility seats

The Multi-utility seats further give the SUV a distinctive advantage. It comes with the following modes - 

• Utility mode: This mode lowers the back seats for more boot space and makes the vehicle ready for adventure.
• Long mode: It reclines the front passenger seat and lowers the back seat to easily accommodate long objects.
• Tall mode: You can extend the space between the floor and the ceiling with the help of this mode and thus carry tall objects with ease.

Deceleration selector paddle 

Honda Malaysia offers the latest HR-V in three engine options - 121 PS/145 Nm 1.5L NA, 181 PS/240 Nm 1.5L VTEC Turbo, and 131 PS/253 Nm hybrid with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC and an e-motor. With the latter comes a new deceleration selector paddle that offers an engaging drive with intricate controls on the steering wheel. It enables you to slow down on downhill roads and take corners smoothly.

Remote Engine Start

The 2022 HR-V also comes with a remote engine start system that ignites the engine and cools the cabin before you enter the vehicle.

Honda Sensing

Another impressive thing about the new Honda HR-V is the Honda SENSING safety pack, which is standard across all variants. It includes advanced driver assistance safety systems like Forward Collision Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keep Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beam, Adaptive Cruise Control, Low Speed Follow and Lead Car Departure Notification.

Honda Connect

The car also gets Honda Connect, the latest tech which applies smart Telematics Technology to ensure security, safety, and convenience. It allows you to access various functions with a dedicated mobile app available for Android and iOS devices.
