2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage open for booking

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only last week that Aston Martin released a melodic V12 soundtrack without associating it with a car. Well, putting an end to all the questions, the automaker has released a teaser of the V12 Vantage.

In the image, the sports car seems to have received subtle revisions that help differentiate it from the range-topping model. For instance, it gets a larger opening at the front grille and a deeper aerodynamic splitter.

Aston Martin has not shared any mechanical details, however, some sources believe the exclusive V12 variant to be powered by the same engine as the V12 Speedster, i.e., a 5.2-litre twelve-cylinder twin-turbo engine. The mill, however, is said to be slightly tweaked for pumping out 700 hp of power and 753 Nm of torque.

The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with its exhaust outlets centrally aligned. On the windscreen-less V12 Speedster, the engine helps the car cover the century sprint in just 3.5 seconds which is just a tenth faster than the Vantage V8 wherein the mill pumps out 510 hp and 685 Nm of torque.

In addition to the massive V12 power plant, the exclusive Vantage is reportedly using lightweight carbon-fibre body panels. All this along with a reworked chassis.

It is to be noted that this is the final Vantage with an internal combustion engine, as the next-gen models are gone full-electric, as confirmed by Aston Martin’s boss.
