2021 Toyota Innova launched in Malaysia, price starts at RM 111,622

KUALA LUMPUR: The hot-selling Toyota Innova received its most recent update back in October and now just after a few months, the refreshed MPV has made its way to Malaysia. Today, UMW Toyota Motor launched the all-new 2021 Innova facelift through a virtual event alongside the popular Fortuner SUV. The launch of these two models is notable as the Japanese automaker’s first launch of 2021 in the local market.

Talking about the more up-market Innova, it is available in three different variants - E, G, and X with slightly higher prices.

On the exterior, the new Innova features a new front fascia with a bigger grille surrounded with wider chrome accents, new multi-array sharper LED headlights, a sportier bumper, and fog lamp housing. The MPV rides on the new diamond-cut 17-inch alloy wheels, finished in dual-tone paint. Adding to the exterior revisions is a black tailgate garnish positioned between the L-shaped tail lights.

Moving to the cabin, here you can find a nine-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which also serves as a display for the 3D Panoramic View Monitor. Depending on the variant, the new Innova specs sheet includes an Optitron meter panel with a 4.2-inch TFT multi-info display, fast charging ports, front and rear automatic air conditioning, Premium black combination leather seats, 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, ambient lighting, vehicle telematics system, and a wireless charging pad. 

Powering the all-new Innova is the same 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder petrol mill producing 139 PS of power at 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. For sending power to the rear wheels, the engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

As for safety, the new Toyota Innova equips seven airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist control, and parking sensors. For 2021, Toyota brings on board blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert for the higher trims.
