112 unit limited, new Lamborghini Countach showcased at the Monterey Car Week
KUALA LUMPUR: To celebrate the iconic Lamborghini Countach's 50th anniversary, the Italian luxury carmaker rolled out a limited-run Countach LPI 800-4 special edition. This is the first time when the brand revived an old moniker for a new model, although it also pays homage to the original. The exotic car was displayed in the Monterey Car Week in the US and will be on offer in a limited quantity of 112 units.
The reimagined Countach looks like a modern-day Lambo with new-age technologies on board. It is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 with a 48V electric motor, the former produces a total output of 780 PS while the hybrid system is capable of generating 34 PS of additional boost. The setup is mated to a 7-speed gearbox that sends power to all four wheels, enabling the supercar to hit the century sprint in 2.8 seconds. The top speed is rated at 355 kmph.
On the exterior, the Countach LPI 800-4 edition features a familiar wedge-like shape and wheel arches. Upfront, we can see new rectangular lights in place of the pop-up units while on the rear lies three-unit tail lamp setups seen on the Sian. The car doesn’t have a fixed rear wing.
Lamborghini also painted the 50th Anniversary Countach model with a special colour i.e. Bianco Siderale which has splashes of pearlescent blue that differentiate it from a regular white Lamborghini.
Inside, the 2021 Lamborghini Countach sports a digital driver’s display, 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, and several driving modes. The cabin also has a lot of carbon fibre details here and there.
While there is no information on the 2021 Lamborghini Countach price at the moment, its deliveries are expected to commence from the first quarter of 2022.
