2021 Hyundai Tucson teased ahead of September 15 debut
KUALA LUMPUR: In recent times, Hyundai has done a lot of work renewing its core SUV lineup. After Santa-Fe and Kona facelift, the Japanese automaker has now released next-gen Tucson SUV teaser images. The said car will be offered in two sizes and is scheduled to debut on September 15. The world premiere of the SUV will be streamed live on Hyundai's official social media handles.
With this new model, Tucson will enter fourth-gen. In the C-SUV segment, it will compete with players like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan X-Trail.
Here a few key highlights of the next-gen Tucson -
- From the recently released teaser, it is clear that the new Tucson would feature Hyundai's signature headlamp architecture called 'Parametric Hidden Lights'. These lights are a part of the overall -Parametric Dynamics' look
- The new Tucson is built on the 'Sensuous Sportiness' design theme that can also be seen in the new Elantra. It gets a Kinetic-jewel like-grille that comes integrated with signature DRLs that are only revealed when turned on
- Depending on the region, Hyundai will offer the Tucson in either a long or short wheelbase. All to meet the varied market needs like the US and Asian market prefer a larger cabin, while Europe wants a smaller interior layout

- Be it a smaller or larger wheelbase version, the Tucson's body is bigger than the ongoing model. It gets a long hood along with shorter overhangs on a stretched wheelbase
- We see an intricate wheel design in the teaser, typical Hyundai. Also, the wheel arches along with several surfaces feature an angular look, giving the car its sporty, bold profile
- The cabin is believed to be spacious and neatly designed offering plenty of convenience and comforting features
- For a more decluttered look, the instrument cluster now sits lower than before, and gauge cluster is also removed
- The dashboard's broad ridge seamlessly blends with the door, thus wrapping the front occupants
- Like a mighty waterfall, the fully-integrated centre fascia descends to the console
- The twin silver garnish lines running from centre to the rear doors along with neatly wrapped premium upholstery creates a mesmerising aura
