2021 Hyundai Staria MPV technical details out, launch soon
KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai’s all-new MPV Staria made its global debut last month when we got to see its several exterior and interior images, but details were limited then. So, now the South Korean automaker unveiled all the technical details of the new minivan that is stepping towards its launch in Asia and Australia.
Kicking off with the Hyundai Staria dimensions, the MPV is 5,253 mm long, 1,997 mm wide, and 1,990 mm tall (2,000 mm in case of the commercial model) and has a wheelbase of 3,273 mm. As compared to Hyundai’s sister concern model’s Carnival, the Staria is wider, longer, taller, and more spacious. On the seating layout, the buyers will be able to choose from different options ranging from 2 seats to 11 seats. Hyundai has specially designed the 2- and 3-seater Staria by keeping business purposes in mind that resulted in a huge boot space of 5,000 litres.
Now coming to the Hyundai Staria engine specs, the automaker will offer this futuristic minivan in two engine options. The first is a 2.2-litre VGT four-cylinder diesel mill generating a maximum output of 174 hp and a peak torque of 431 Nm, while the second unit is a Smartstream 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated mill good for making 268 hp and 331 Nm. The transmission pairing for the first unit is a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, how the latter will be exclusively offered with an eight-speed automatic.
Standard equipment list includes LED headlights with integrated DRLs, LED tail lights with Parametric Pixel pattern, dual-tone alloys, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with smartphone mirroring, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a push-button gear shifter. Exterior colour options include - Abyss Black Pearl, Creamy White, Olivine Grey Metallic, Shimmering Silver Metallic, Graphite Grey Metallic, Moonlight Blue Pearl, Gaia Brown Pearl, and Dynamic Yellow.

Lastly, the Hyundai Staria price and availability, the automaker kept numb on the pricing, however, it did reveal that it will go on sale in select markets starting from the second half of 2021. For the near future, Hyundai has also planned its limousines, ambulances, and camping models along with eco-friendly trims.
