2021 Honda Integra introduced in China

KUALA LUMPUR: Yesterday, we talked about the upcoming Honda Acura Integra that is set to make its global debut next year in the United States. And now here we have another all-new Integra, recently introduced in China by Guangqi Honda, a joint venture between GAC Group and Honda Motor Company. Well, as you can see in the images, this Integra is basically the eleventh-generation Honda Civic with some cosmetic tweaks.

According to the automaker, the Integra responds to the desires of young people with the avant-garde of the times. It fulfills their longing for dynamic driving performance, exquisite comfort, safety as well as reliability. The moniker symbolizes sports, stylish and handsomeness that are at the forefront of the times.

Let’s see how the China-bound Integra differentiates itself from the Honda Civic. The car has a different front end with a normal six-point grille edged by slimmer LED headlights. On the lower apron, we can notice more subtle fog light clusters along with smaller intakes. The rear fascia, on the other hand, benefits from the different tail lights that feature an inverted L-shape and are extended more towards the boot lid. The rest of the vehicle is being recognized as the Civic.

While the details on the Chinese-spec Integra are scarce at the moment, we can try to decode the engine specification from the 240 Turbo badge positioned on the revealed images. As per that it is likely to be fitted with the Civic’s 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo four-cylinder mill that is capable of generating maximum power of 182 PS at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 240 Nm from 1,700 to 4,500 rpm. Transmission is also expected to be the same CVT driving the front wheels.

The new GAC Honda Integra is slated to go on sale in the Chinese showrooms later this year.
