All you need to know about 2020 Perodua Myvi
KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua’s best selling nameplate, Myvi, has received a mild update for 2020 and came at par with its siblings, Axia and Bezza, in terms of safety. The updated Myvi gets the latest Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 and a brand new Electric Blue exterior shade.
The hatchback is currently available in five variants, including 1.3L G MT, 1.3L G AT, 1.3L X AT, 1.5L H AT, and 1.5L AV AT. 2020 Perodua Myvi price starts at RM 41,292.
Though the range-topping Myvi 1.5 AV AT was previously the only trim equipped with ASA, the more advanced ASA 2.0 now comes as a standard appointment in two Myvi variants - 1.5 AV AT and 1.5 H AT. Moreover, the customers of Myvi 1.3 X AT can also opt for it by paying an extra price.
Introduced in 2017, the outgoing ASA included the pre-collision warning (up to 30 kmph), pre-collision braking (up to 30 kmph), front departure alert, and pedal misoperation control, all together aimed to mitigate collisions. In comparison, its latest version added pedestrian detection (up to 50 kmph) to the suite and has the increased speeds of pre-collision warning and pre-collision braking i.e., 100 kmph and 80 kmph, respectively. The ASA 2.0 made its debut with the Perodua Aruz 2019 model.
“With the inclusion of ASA 2.0, the Perodua Myvi takes advanced safety to a whole new level at this price point, and it’s now more widely available within the line-up. The latest Myvi carries on the Perodua tradition of bringing advanced safety technology to the people by making it affordable and accessible to all,” said Perodua president and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
The Electric Blue shade joins the existing Myvi colour palette, including Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Lava Red, and Granite Grey, and will be available in all the variants. Moreover, Granite Grey will also be now available on all trims, whereas Perodua dropped the Mystical Purple and Peppermint Green from the line-up.
With an average of 100,000 units annual sales, the Perodua Myvi has long held the tag of Malaysia’s most favoured car; and now, with the 2020 updates, it seems to retain the honour for a little longer.
