2020 Beijing Motor Show: Voyah i-Land electric coupe revealed
KUALA LUMPUR: Despite the pandemic and all the dullness surrounding it, the 2020 Beijing Motor Show has proven to be a refreshing escape. On display are some of the finest auto creations - both in concept and production form. One such concept is the i-Land coupe by the Chinese carmaker Voyah. Sharing the stage is also the i-Free electric SUV that is said to enter production next year.
It is to be noted that these concepts are not mear rip-offs, as is the case with most Chinese cars. These, however, are original products that look stunning, in fact, the i-Land coupe is penned by Italdesign and features gullwing doors. A closer look will reveal that the car looks a bit like the Italdesign DaVinci Concept, in terms of the fascia, silhouette, and the gullwing doors.
The story remains the same on the inside as well, with both concepts sharing the steering wheel and central tunnel. What differs between the two is the logo and a multitude of screens on Voyah's concept.
Italdesign very actively participated in the development of the Voyah's full-electric coupe. The firm did it all from designing the logo to engineering development, construction, and employing the human-machine interface.
As for the coupe's future, Voyah said, "it should spawn a production model in the near future." Also, the automaker confirmed the production car will come tuned with L3 and higher autonomous driving assistance.
