2019 Renault Captur Trophy LE launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Renault’s official distributor in Malaysia, TC Euro Cars, has brought the limited edition Captur Trophy in the country. The limited-edition car was previewed earlier this month at Renault’s PJ showroom and is based on the entry-level Captur.

The orange paint job is the most striking thing of the Captur Trophy LE. The official name of the color is Trophy Orange, which is differences from the Atacama Orange available on the standard model. There are also spoilers on both the front and rear bumpers. On the sides, there are 3D black chequered flag decals. Moreover, the hands-free powered tailgate is also standard.

Inside the limited edition Renault Captur Trophy is a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed on the dash that supports internet connectivity and GPS navigation. Applications like the Joox, Waze, etc. can be used, as the system has internet support. Furthermore, the interior is packed with an array of features, including front-facing dashcam, front centre armrest, scuff plates, reverse camera, boot sill guard, leather seats, etc.

However, the manufacturer has not made any changes in the mechanical department as it still is powered by a 1.2-litre TCe 120 engine. It is capable of churning out a maximum power of 120 PS, while the peak torque is 205 Nm. The engine now comes with an auto stop-start system. The power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) transmission. As per the NEDC cycle, the car is capable of providing a mileage of 16.9 kmpl.

The Renault Captur Trophy LE price tag reads RM 107,980. The car is also available with a Renault Subscription, where the buyer needs to pay RM 1,499 per month for two years. The vehicle comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty having unlimited mileage, along with five years or 100,000 km free maintenance.
