2019 Proton Iriz - Check out its features, specs, & more

Proton has launched the all-new Iriz in Malaysia, and there is no doubt about the cars magnetic appeal. Seeing it at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre next to the new Persona sedan took our breath away. It’s incredible to see how much Proton has worked on its design as well as the technical front.

Here are a few facts about the 2019 Iriz -

• The hatch has received a total of 367 changes over its previous form
• The new Iriz is RM 3700 cheaper than the old model
• It comes with an additional kit and upgrades worth around RM 1400
• With the 2019 Iriz, we witness the reintroduction of two variants - 1.6 Exclusive CVT and 1.6 Premium CVT

Before discussing the new Iriz’s features and specs in detail, let’s first throw some light on its price card. The new Iriz is available in five trims, and the car is also now cheaper than before and comes with many upgrades.

Proton Iriz features -

New front fascia - The car features a revised front bumper that is accompanied by a new grille. Also, the car gets reflector halogen headlamps that are joined by a thick chrome strip. Further, helping the Iriz stand out of the crowd is the distinctive LED Daytime Running Lamps.

New rear design - Like the front, the rear end of the Iriz too is decorated as per the new design theme. The car features a new rear bumper that enhances the look. Even the Premium trim restricted black roof, and the standard shark fin antenna adds to the car’s sporty appeal.

Semi-leather upholstery - Available in the Premium trim, the semi-leather upholstery design look effortlessly stylish. Also, the seats are easy-to-clean and comfortable. The black roof lining gives the cabin a sporty look and feel.

Driver assist features - Providing the driver with the journey’s complete information is the new full-color TFT Multi-info display with ECO Drive assist. Next up is the borderless rear view mirror that helps you see the world clearly. The Iriz further features a new gear knob that provides a better grip on the sporty knob.

Intelligent head unit - On the dashboard is present a 7-inch touchscreen system that comes with Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi, and 4G. It also comes with add-on features like voice command, online music streaming, online navigation, and smartphone connectivity.

Convenience kit - The new Iriz is packed with several comfort and convenience features like intelligent entry wherein you only require to pull the handle with keys being in your pocket. Then it has a push start button, two rear USB chargers, ORVM with auto fold function, headlamp with follow me home function, multifunctional steering wheel, and remote trunk release.

Impressive safety specs - Did you know that all the variants of the Iriz received a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating? Well, it’s a great thing. The car stands on HPF body structure that strengthens the car's edifice. Included in Iriz specs sheet are safety features like six airbags, Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control System, reverse camera with dynamic line, and an all-round camera.
