2018 Nissan Serena S-Hybrid launched, starts from RM135,500

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new 2018 Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is officially launched in Malaysia by the official distributor of Nissan in the country - Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM). The seven-seater MPV is available in Highway Star and Premium Highway Star variants, with their price tag reading as RM135,500 and RM147,500 respectively.

The 2018 Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is equipped with a micro-hybrid system. It derives its power from an MR20DD 2.0-litre, direct-injected, four-cylinder petrol engine and sources the same to the front wheels through a CVT gearbox. The powertrain generates maximum output of 150 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The pulley-driven starter generator aids the electric-propulsion system with 2.6 PS power and 48 Nm torque for a second when the vehicle gets in motion. The S-Hybrid MPV provides a fuel efficiency of 14.2 kmpl and hence, is eligible for the EEV (energy efficient vehicle ) incentives.

The interior of the Serena S-Hybrid portrays a modern look with a stitched soft-to-touch dashboard, single-zone auto climate control, push-button start, and keyless entry, rear air-con controls, and a 7-inch multi-information touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Incorporation of sound absorption materials at the wheelhouse has helped make the cabin less noisy. It has a seven-seater layout and features armrests in the second-row captain’s chairs. First and second row seats are designed using zero-gravity technology. A total of seven USB ports are there all across the cabin.

The Nissan’s V-motion front grille looks prominent on the front fascia. It comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, dual-tier LED headlamps, rear and front fog lights. The car features a floating roof design which is emphasised by the dual-tone colour scheme of Premium Highway Star trim. Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS paired with EBD, brake assist as well as stability control. The car comes in multiple colour options like Cashmere Gold and Diamond Black colours. However, the Premium Highway Star variant features three extra two-tone exterior colour options.

The 2018 Nissan Serena S-Hybrid is priced at RM135,500, and the buyers will enjoy added benefits of five-year, limitless mileage warranty and 60,000 km/three-year free service package.
