2016 Renault Megane IV – leaked pictures

Kuala Lumpur: The next-generation 2016 Renualt Megane has leaked online giving us the clear look of the hatchback after so many conjectures based on the spyshots. It will make debut at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt, as confirmed to IAB by Laurens Van Den Acker, Senior Vice President, Corporate Design, Renault.

The variant above is of the sporty Megane GT, which slots below the power-packed Renault Megane RS by Renault Sport. Styling hues and designing of Renault Megane has been adorned in such a way that it looks more 'sportish' with athletic front bumper and lip. Other blunt cues that Megane has received from Renault Talisman and 2015 Renault Escape are large air intakes with new bumper design, GT badge below the big diamond logo, big wheels, rear diffuser, twin tailpipes and the GT line’s trademark blue paint.

As expected, the leaked pictures of Renault Megane confirm that its styling has been inspired from the mid-sized Talisman that was revealed in early July, including a new hooked headlamp design. Similarity can also be seen over tightly tapered taillamps that extend into the centre of the rear hatch. In addition, a long strip of LED extends far beyond the tail lamps to touch the central Renault logo.

Contradictory to it, previous spyshots showed undisguised taillights that look similar to the taillights on the Renault Clio and less camouflage around the front bumper.

The first view of the cabin shows the large portrait-style touchscreen taken from the Renault’s big cars like the Escape and Talisman. The “big iPad” display sees most of the Megane's conventional controls moved to an on-screen arrangement, and there’s an electronic parking brake to further organize the cockpit in a clean manner. The instrument panel has a central rev meter with a digital speedo within.

A thick-rimmed and flat-bottomed sports steering wheel is also shown, adorned with a blue-backed logo over it. Body-coloured inserts, silver accents, contrast stitching and lightly bolstered sports seats round out the standout interior highlights.

In terms of engines, it is expected to pack a downsized engine lineup, including petrols and dCI diesel units. Although, all-new units could also be on the card. Well! 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show will reveal the clear picture of Renault Megane, which is just a way ahead to start in the next week.
