2016 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S Unveiled
Kuala Lumpur: Ahead of its debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show, Porsche has unveiled its facelifted 911 Turbo and Turbo S models. Both the variants would be made available in coupe and convertible forms. The host of upgrades would include engine specifications and exterior as well. Further, 2016 Porsche 911 is designed to be made in line with its sibling, Porsche Carrera.

Towards the exterior, 2016 Porsche 911's front and rear end resembles that of Porsche Carrera. The front fascia features narrower LED headlamps with double fillets and new side airbags. The rear end of this car is also redesigned with new taillights, new bumper and reworked quad exhaust tips on trapezoidal tailpipes. Further, both the variants are anchored with 20-inch alloy wheels with seven double spokes for Turbo variant and ten spokes for Turbo S variant. Inside, it receives a new 918 Spyder-derives 360 mm GT steering wheel along with rotary driving mode controller. Further, it is also integrated with Porsche Communication Management infotainment system which gets a new touchscreen and improved connectivity functions with wi-fi.
Beneath the hood, both the variants of Porsche 911 are powered by the same twin turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six engine. While the Turbo produces a maximum power of 533 hp, the Turbo S is capable of churning out a whopping 572 hp. Further, both the variants are equipped with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission with the four-wheel drive system. Talking about the century sprint, the Turbo variant takes 3.0 seconds to complete it while Turbo S variant can do it in just 2.9 seconds. Top speeds are recorded at 320 kmph and 330 kmph for Turbo and Turbo S respectively. The fuel efficiency for both the variants turns out to be 9.3 litres per 100 km. Further, the automaker has blessed this car with a new dynamic boost function which results in a better engine response. The effect is more prominent in Sport and Sport Plus mode than in Normal mode.

Additionally, a Sport Chrono Package is also provided. It includes a Sport Response button which when pressed, preconditions the engine and gearbox to deliver a better responsiveness for about 20 seconds. Apart from the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) system and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), a radar lane change system is also provided along with a front axle lift function that increases the ground clearance at front spoiler lip by 40 mm. Further, the prices for Porsche 911 car can vary from RM675k to RM850k.
