2015 Mercedes-Benz SL Specs Revealed
Kuala Lumpur: The Mercedes-Benz SL, currently in its sixth generation, has been updated with some visual and technical changes. The changes have been made to bring it in line with the current Mercedes-Benz family, especially the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car. 2015 Mercedes-Benz made a debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show and would go on sale in the second quarter of 2016 for European Markets.

Towards the front fascia, it gets a huge 'diamond grille' along with headlights that feature LED Intelligent Light System. The front bonnet may look the same, but now it is designed with larger air intakes along with a more widespread use of chrome. It's Mercedes AMG-style front bumper gets the trademark A-wing. Elsewhere, the side skirts, rear bumper and all-red LED taillights are also new. Moreover, it is anchored with 19-inch alloy wheels and gets two new exterior paint options with Brilliant Blue and Designo Selenite Grey Mango. Inside, it gets a new steering wheel, new instrument cluster along with reworked buttons on the centre console. A choice of several interior trims and shades of leather is also provided. The most striking feature being its 'vario-roof' folding hardtop that can be operated at speeds up to 40 kmph.

Under the hood, an option of two engines is provided. The first one being a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine churns out a maximum power of 367 hp along with a peak torque of 500 Nm. The other being a 4.6-litre V8 engine churns out a maximum power of 455 hp along with a commanding torque of 700 Nm. Both of these engines are further mated to a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission. Further, this car takes just 4.9 seconds to complete a century sprint along with a top speed of 250 kmph.
