These engines are carried forward from the pre-facelift Palisade, but are mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission, which incorporates revised friction reduction tech leading to smoother, quieter shifting, and better fuel efficiency, says Hyundai. Also, the brand’s all-wheel drive system paired with the diesel mill offers an improved off-road escape performance thanks to its multi-terrain controller.
