2023 Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel: In 18 images

It was only yesterday that Ford Malaysia launched its performance-oriented double-cab pickup truck, the Range Raptor 2.0L biturbo diesel model. Priced at RM 248,888 on-the-road without insurance, the new variant joins the existing 3.0L biturbo V6 petrol Ranger Raptor variant.

Like its petrol counterpart, every purchase of the new diesel model will be accompanied by a 5-year,160,000 km warranty (whichever comes first). Ford is offering five exterior tons, namely - Code Orange, Absolute Black, Arctic White, Conquer Grey, and Blue Lightning.

Like its petrol variant, the diesel variant showcases the same dimensions which calls for an amazing on-road appeal and also contributes to its spacious cabin.

As is clear from the images, the Range Raptor diesel trim is designed for the bold and has no room for subtly.

The front is adorned with Ford’s signature grille with big F-O-R-D lettering complimenting its muscular design.

Enhancing the look further are the powerful Matrix headlights with auto high beam and automatic leveling function. The lighting unit optimizes battery power by generating less heat.

Other features at the front include a Raptor Scheme bumper, LED fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, and C-Clamp LED Daytime Running Lights.

The pickup truck showcases a stunning exterior which includes a stunning side profile including, a power-adjustable & foldable side mirror with a puddle lamp, Raptor scheme side steps, and a Ford Performance scuff plate.

Ford’s latest pickup rolls on massive 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 285/70R17 BF Goodrich all-terrain KO2 tyres.

The rear adorns several striking elements as well including, the Raptor Scheme rear bumper, black tailgate handle, recovery hooks, easy lift tailgate, and steps bumper.

Lighting at the rear is taken care of by LED rear lights, LED tailgate-mounted stop lamps, and LED fog lamps.

The Ranger Raptor pickup gets a standard bed liner with six cargo box hook points, an easy lift tailgate, and a 12V socket with a 230V 3-pin socket.

Making sure the driver and passengers are always connected to the outside world, the new Ranger Raptor diesel variant gets a 12-inch multi-touch screen display head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Voice Recognition.

Offering the driver all the necessary real-time information in a high-resolution interface is a high-resolution 12.4-inch digital cluster.

The steering you see above is leather-wrapped with control switches and tilt & telescopic adjustments.

The new Ranger Raptor benefits from performance seats at the front and rear which are designed for superior comfort and support.

The Bang & Olufsen sound system offers crisp and powerful audio which is supported by state-of-the-art speakers.

The all-new Ranger Raptor 2.0L biturbo diesel variant benefits from several cabin amenities which makes every journey smooth and comfortable. Part of the kit is - an electronic parking brake, intelligent 3-blink turn signal, 4 USB charging ports, keyless entry with push-start button, electronic dual-zone climate control system, rear air-con vents, a 10-way power adjustable driver & front passenger seats, and wireless charger.

The new Ranger Raptor diesel trim is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine generating a maximum power of 210 PS at 3,570 rpm along with a peak torque of 500 Nm from 1,750 to 2,000 rpm. Yes, it is the same powertrain that powers the regular Ranger Biturbo variants.

The drive is transmitted to the wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Also, the new model benefits from electronic shift-on-the-fly for 4A, 2H, 4H, and 4L modes.

The Range Rover diesel variant benefits from different modes for paved and off-road terrains. While the former comprises Normal, Sport, and Slippery modes, the latter gets Sand, Mud & Ruts, Rock Crawl, and Baja Mode.

Taking care of passengers' comfort irrespective of the terrain is the new Ranger Raptor diesel trim’s superb suspension setup which it shares with its petrol counterpart. It features double wishbones with lightweight Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass dampers, aluminum upper and lower control arms in the front, and a Watts linkage coil spring at the rear.
