2015 Frankfurt Motor Show: Top 5 cars for Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur: Well, we are almost a week away from this earth's monumental auto event, The Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. It is one of the biggest and grandiose auto show which will be held in Frankfurt from 17th September to 29th September. Held every other year, this German show is the first chance for the world’s automakers to show off their newest products and technologies, starting with the show’s media days on September 15th and 16th.

This year also the show will witness a plethora of launches including trim levels, concepts and new cars. So many debuts are still a mystery. But the curiosity is, what Malaysians will be getting from this mega event? Here is a compilation of the most anticipated reveals for Malaysia at the season's opening event. What we know of and we think the Malaysian new car buyers should get excited about.
1. New BMW 7 Series
The car was unveiled a couple of months ago, the new BMW 7 Series will be launched at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. From its alluring past the 7 series was beginning to show its age but the latest mutations to the BMW 7 Series underlines its claim to redefine what an exclusive, luxurious driving experience looks like with an exceptional array of innovations. The new 7 Series will get updated engines and various advanced features such as Drive Experience Control, Remote Control parking, LED headlights with optional laser lights, an all new surround sound system, head-up display and much more. Mercedes-Benz is all enthusiastic to roll out its latest flagship in the Malaysian markets.
The GLC-Class will be a totally new attraction at the Mercedes-Benz stall launching out from this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. With the trending crossover market, Mercedes has come out with this great product succeeding its GLK. It is an SUV based on the C-Class and indeed, it shares several underpinnings such as the MRA platform that it is based on from the C-Class sedan. The designs of the car are highly influenced from the C-class on the front end and interiors of the car. GLC is a perfect echo of C-Clas in the form of a crossover. With the increasing demands of crossovers in Malaysia, the GLC will be an instant hit.
3. Kia Sportage
Another major attraction at this year’s Frankfurt show will be Kia Sportage. Another mini SUV presented with increased zeal to attract potential buyers. Sportage has its exterior designs influenced from the 2013 Kia Provo concept, Korea’s Kia has released teasing images of its second-generation Sportage compact crossover, featuring a new version of the brand’s so-called “Tiger Nose” front end, with softer edges all around. The car will be based on the shared platform of 2016 Hyundai Tucson. This Kia should feature an upgraded cabin too, to lure Malaysia buyers.
Well, this might sound something big but yes, the Italian prancing horse is all set out to release its entry-level sports vehicle at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. Ferrari 488 Spider is going to launch with its hard-top weighing 55 pounds less than an equivalent soft top. The car will be powered by a 660 hp, twin-turbocharged, V8 engine. The Italian maker is enthusiastic to roll this car in the Malaysian auto market.
5. New Audi A4
The Audi A4 is one of the most popular luxury sedans in the Malaysian Auto market, the car has been already unveiled ahead of the show. The fifth generation of Audi’s compact five-passenger, four-door sedan features an evolutionary exterior that looks like an upsized version of the smaller A3. Audi has installed the car with the latest Audi matrix LED headlight clusters, dynamic turn indicators, ambient interior lighting, voice recognition, higher safety features, a new sound system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and an optional Audi Virtual Cockpit. The car itself is now longer and wider than its predecessor. Audi A4 uses the VW Group’s flexible MQB transverse engine platform. The all new A4 boasts more room than the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class with more high-tech goodies and less weight for better fuel economy. The company is all excited to send cargo's of this car to the Malaysian shores. Prices will be revealed soon.
