UD Trucks introduces locally-assembled Euro 5 range in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Big news for Malaysia's truck world! UD Trucks, in collaboration with its sole distributor partner Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE), has introduced the CKD versions of its Euro 5 truck range launched in Malaysia last year. The range comprises the heavy-duty UD Quester and medium-duty UD Croner.

It makes UD Trucks the first Japanese brand to assemble heavy-duty and medium-duty Euro 5 trucks in Malaysia exceeding the Euro 4 emission regulations that will be applicable from April 1, 2024 in Malaysia.
The CKD production at TCMA includes welding and trimming the truck cabs, assembling the chassis, and inspecting the fully assembled trucks at the end of the line. UD Trucks International's manufacturing team helped TCMA with setting up processes and tools for assembly, training operators, and ensuring quality control to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Importantly also, the trucks will offer operators efficiency at an affordable price range.”
The new Euro 5 range features Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 60% and particulate matter (PM) by 80% compared to Euro 3 levels. These engines also consume less fuel and emit lower CO2. AdBlue, a diesel exhaust fluid for SCR systems, will be available at all TCIE branches and dealerships in Malaysia.
