Angka-Tan Motor launches Foton eAumark EV Light-Duty Truck, Introduces Foton Aumark S and JMC Vigus Pro White Series 4x2

KUALA LUMPUR: In a stride towards advancing Malaysia's commercial vehicle sector, Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd (ATM), the sole distributor for Foton Light Commercial Vehicles, Foton Auman, and JMC vehicles in Malaysia, has launched three new vehicles at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2024, including an interesting fully electric truck.

The launch includes the pioneering Foton eAumark, priced at an introductory price of RM238,000, setting a new benchmark for electric commercial transport in the region. Also unveiled were the Foton Aumark S Euro 4, starting at RM98,400 for the 4-wheeler variant and RM115,300 for the 6-wheeler variant, and the JMC Vigus Pro White Series 4x2, starting at RM89,999 in West Malaysia and RM91,999 in East Malaysia.

The introduction of the Foton eAumark marks a pivotal moment as the first light-duty electric truck officially available in Malaysia, symbolising the Industry's commitment to environmentally conscious transport solutions. This light duty truck stretches 5,960mm in length, 2,000mm in width, and stands 2,210mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,360mm.

The fully electric truck features a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers 156PS and over 900Nm of torque. The truck is powered by an 81.14kWh iron-phosphate battery from CATL, achieving a WLTP-rated range of up to 200km and is equipped with modern features like LED headlights and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Each eAumark purchase includes a complimentary 22kW AC Wallbox Charger, ensuring the vehicle is always ready to perform when needed. Additionally, owners can take advantage of the expanding network of DC charging stations across Malaysia. The eAumark boasts impressive fast-charging capabilities, capable of recharging from 20% to 100% state of charge in just one hour with a DC charger, enhancing operational efficiency and readiness.

The pure electric powertrain of the vehicle is engineered to perform reliably in the demanding tropical climate of Malaysia. It features a battery that is certified for IP67 water and dust resistance, ensuring durability against environmental elements.

Additionally, the battery's high-temperature resistance is confirmed by its 600°C ignition point. Further enhancing its utility, the powertrain includes a 10kW ePTO port, allowing for the attachment of external equipment or specialized structures, broadening its range of applications.

In parallel, the Foton Aumark S Euro 4 represents the evolution of traditional diesel-powered truck, meeting Euro 4 emission standards and demonstrating enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions. The Aumark S continues to utilize reliable Cummins engines and is available in two configurations: a four-wheel version with a choice of two wheelbases and a six-wheel version featuring a more robust 3.8-litre engine.

Complementing these launches is the bang for buck JMC Vigus Pro White Series 4x2, which offers an affordable solution for local SMEs, providing a robust utility vehicle with modern amenities like an eight-inch touchscreen and rain-sensing wipers, powered by a 2.0-litre Puma turbodiesel engine.

Similar to its 4x4 counterpart in the JMC Vigus Pro lineup, the White Series 4x2 is equipped with the renowned 2.0-litre Puma four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which delivers 141PS and 340Nm of torque.

Developed by Ford, this robust engine is coupled with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission that includes an electronic gear selector and paddle shifters, ensuring a seamless and dynamic driving experience. Additionally, this versatile workhorse features a durable truck bed capable of transporting up to 950kg of cargo, making it ideal for a wide range of utility needs.

These introductions are not only a testament to ATM's innovative approach but also align with Warisan TC Holdings Bhd's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, particularly in supporting Malaysia's zero emissions target by 2050.

All Foton Aumark S trucks come with a comprehensive six-year/300,000km warranty, providing industry-leading peace of mind. Similarly, the JMC Vigus Pro White Series 4x2, like its 4x4 counterpart, is safeguarded by a three-year/100,000km warranty.

For the eAumark trucks, the cabin and chassis are protected under a three-year or 100,000km factory warranty, whichever comes first. Moreover, the drive motor, 81.14kWh battery, and controller benefit from an extended five-year warranty, with coverage up to 200,000km, ensuring long-term reliability and customer satisfaction.

This range of new vehicles demonstrates ATM's dedication to enhancing Malaysia's logistics capabilities through advanced, sustainable technologies that meet the diverse needs of the commercial sector. All models were showcased at Booth M14 at the Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre which ran up until 11 May 2024.
