Recent Updates of Freeride 350

The Freeride 350 has made a spot for itself in the industry as a bike for those who want to have an off-road riding experience but without any pressure. Its powerplant is based on the successful engine of the 350 EXC-F and here its been optimized for a harmonious torque progression. Also, the 350 cc comes with a crankshaft with plain bearing in the lower conrod eye, it guarantees high durability and extended crankshaft service interval. The same goes for the piston as well, it ensures high durability, while keeping the weight minimum. Further ensuring all this and more is the undamped CSS clutch and the Formula hydraulic system that ensures optimum disengagement and precise control. The 349.7 cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. On the suspension front is present WP upside-down 43mm front and WP PDS shock absorber rear unit. The baking, on the other hand, is taken care of by disc brakes.

KTM Freeride 350 Review 2024

KTM is a world-renowned two-wheeler manufacturing brand beloved by riders of all ages for their modern and sporty designed bikes. KTM also produces high-end off-roading bikes, and one of the best-selling off-road bikes from KTM is the Freeride 350. This bike aims at people who want to get into off-road biking with a trustable and performance-driven machine to get them started. Even though the design and colour options are limited on this model, the stylish and practical design is sure to win you over.

The focus of the KTM Freeride 350 is performance. This bike comes tuned to perfection for optimum performance in all terrains and riding conditions. The high performance of this bike is supported by its lightweight of just 99.5kgs and its 349.7cc engine. These aforementioned features make this bike one of the best off-roading bikes available in the Malaysian market.

KTM Freeride 350 Design

The KTM Freeride 350 has a bare-bones design that is typical of off-road bikes. The body is made out of steel alloy that help this bike retain its lightweight. The fuel tank is also kept small to make sure the bike is light enough for off-road riding. The look created by the adjustable bulb headlight upfront gives a classic off-roading vibe to this model. The LED taillights also add to the overall look and design of this model.

The console is also stripped back and does not possess many features that are standard in other KTM bikes, such as an odometer or fuel gauge. The digital console provides features such as a speedometer and a trip meter. One of the defining design choices for this bike is a rider-only bike with no pillion seat. This model features a slender seat to match the sleek design of this bike.

Freeride 350 Ride & Handling

Ride and handling on this bike is handled by its suspension system that WP manufactures. The front wheel has an upside-down suspension system that can handle off-road riding efficiently, giving excellent riding control. The rear wheel has a single PDS shock absorber unit that provides excellent stability to the ride.

This model features a height-adjustable seat that is good for accommodating riders of all heights. The seat is distanced perfectly from the handlebars giving the perfect riding posture needed for off-roading. The two large wheels of this bike feature 90/90 R21 sized front tyres and 120/90 R18 sized rear tyres. They help in keeping the vehicle stable in all riding conditions and on every terrain.

KTM Freeride 350 Engine & Fuel Consumption

The engine is the key to this bike’s performance, and it does not fail to amaze even the harshest critics. The 349.7cc four-stroke liquid-cooled engine is at the heart of this model with a single-cylinder four-valve DOHC body. The engine of this bike is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a wet multi-plate clutch system that can propel this machine at top speeds of over 95 kmph.

Along with the engine, this bike also features a dual exhaust system that creates a signature roaring sound when you ride at high speeds. One of the significant inconveniences for this model is the unavailability of a fuel gauge. This makes it impossible to monitor the fuel usage of this bike’s 5.5 litres fuel tank. Still, you can expect average fuel consumption of around 12 kmpl.

Freeride 350 Braking & Safety

When it comes to braking and safety, this bike does not come with the best features. This model features single disc brakes for both the front and the rear wheel. There is no integrated ABS, and the brakes are not the strongest suit of this vehicle.

As for the other safety features, this model has a pass switch, engine check indicator, and dedicated off-road riding mode.

KTM Freeride 350 Verdict

The KTM Freeride 350 is a beginner-friendly bike best suited for people who want to get into off-road riding without prior experience. This bike does not feature high specifications, but the lightweight and powerful engine makes this bike a serious competitor in the Malaysian off-road bikes market. If you are looking for a bike for occasional off-roading and general small distance daily commute, the KTM Freeride 350 is perfect for you.
