Honda MSX125 SF

The Honda MSX125 SF is one unique vehicle in terms of design. The latest incarnation of Honda’s “monkey bike” philosophy, the MSX125 SF’s dwarfed design with sporty cues makes it look cool and functional at the same time.

At the front, the Honda MSX125 SF comes with a long trapezoidal front face, which incorporates full LED headlamp setup in two partitions, surrounded by colored fairing on either side. While the overall switchgear is quite satisfactory in terms of design, however the rearview mirrors could have styled a bit better.

At just 104 kgs, the Honda MSX125 SF is quite an easy motorcycle to handle, the essence of which is amplified by its simple yet strong mechanicals. The MSX125 SF features conventional telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, which are set on a slightly stiffer side to complement its athletic nature. The result is quite wonderful, as the suspension setup, along with 10-inch wheels impart a fun factor in its overall ride and handling balance. The meaty tyres help to achieve a smooth ride quality and grip on all terrains, while the disc brake setup at both the ends gives it a sharp stopping power.

Powering the petite Honda MSX125 SF is a small four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 125 cc motor. Mated to a simple 4-speed manual gearbox, the engine is good enough to produce 9.8 PS of power and 11 Nm of torque. Given the ultra-small dimensions of the MSX125 SF and its light kerb weight of 104 kg, the bike has an impressive power-to-weight ratio which makes it a brisk tool for handling all your city duties.

Given its entry-level positioning, the Honda MSX 125SF misses out on many modern safety electronic aids. However, the inclusion of disc brake at both the ends signify that Honda tried its best to make the MSX125 SF a safe motorcycle despite its basic appeal.

The Honda MSX125 SF might not be a motorcycle to tour long distances but makes a wonderful and unique proposition for your city commutes. The overall dimensions and ergonomics might take some time to get used to. However, once you understand the thorough feel of the MSX 125SF, you'll appreciate its easy-to-ride nature and the futuristic design.
