For 2021, Honda has made no major changes to the CB500F, except the new Darkness Black Metallic colour. This all-rounder motorcycle from Honda features a minimalist design that still manages to look attractive because of the sharp edges and an aggressive front fascia. The CB500F is powered by a 471cc parallel-twin 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine that makes 49.5 hp of power and 44Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Telescopic forks at the front along with a prolink suspension with nine adjustments on the rear offer ample riding comfort to the user. Safety features include ABS, Wave key, and Honda Ignition Security System (HISS).

The Honda CB500F belongs to the well-known motorcycle series from the Japanese automaker. It is known for its powerful performance, superior design, and dependability. Honda CB500F Design
The Honda CB500F comes with a naked design and is available in three color options - Candy Caribbean Blue Sea, Force Silver Metallic, and Candy Chromosphere Red. It gets a bright headlight and taillight which point to the motorcycle’s bold and sharp design.
The bike comes with an LCD instrument panel where the rider will get all the needed information. The display contains a tripmeter and fuel consumption gauges, bar graph tachometer, digital clock, and digital speedometer. Moreover, it comes with a 16.7-litre fuel tank along with a built-in cover that enhances convenience while refuelling.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels. The front wheel is wrapped in tubeless 120 mm tyre while the rear one gets a thick 160 rubber.
CB500F Ride & Handling
The Honda CB500F is one of the best sports bikes to ride. The engine is powerful enough while both the maximum and torque comes at a decent rev range.
Speaking of the suspensions, a telescopic fork suspension is added to the front wheel while at the rear comes a prolink suspension with nine adjustable levels. The preloaded adjuster front and the rear suspension work together to make the riding comfortable and soft for both riders as well as the pillions.
Honda CB500F Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Honda CB500F is powered by a 4-stroke, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that offers a good performance while riding. The 471 cc mill is capable of belting out a maximum of 49.5 hp power along with a peak torque of 44 Nm. Both the maximum power and torque comes at a rev range of 8,500 rpm and 7,000 rpm, respectively.
The rev range is quite good. The rider can get the maximum power and torque without lingering in the high redline. The transmission duties of the two-wheeler are done by a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The motorcycle offers quite a good performance with the liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC engine. It is further aided by the PGM-FI injectors and the new transmission system offers a great riding experience and makes the riding more responsive.
CB500F Braking & Safety
As for the braking, the Honda CB500F gets disc brakes on both of the wheels. At the front, the 320 mm disc rotor has a dual-piston caliper which makes a good stopping power. Also, both the disc brakes support ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) that avoids the sudden locking of brakes to prevent skidding.
The two-wheeler comes with the brand’s exclusive Wave Key that helps to avoid theft by preventing the insertion of a forged key. There is a feature called HISS (Honda Ignition Security System), a microchip which is embedded within the key. The chip contains a password, and the bike cannot be unlocked if the password does not match with that of the key cylinder.
It has a seat height of 789 mm which encourages the fact that the riders of all heights can handle the bike easily. They can easily place their foot firmly on the ground. It comes with a kerb weight of 191 kg which is decent enough to handle.
Honda CB500F Verdict
The Honda CB500F is one of the top names in the sports bike section in Malaysia. The naked bike gets a powerful engine along with a bunch of safety features. The LED headlight and taillight point to its bold and sharp design.
The motorcycle comes with a price tag of around RM31,00 and gives a tough competition to the Yamaha MT-07.
