Riding the Ducati Monster has proven to be an experience full of contrasts. The raw, hammering character of the engine makes things interesting. In the second and first gear, the bike feels perfectly happy for stop-and-go traffic. I have found the fuelling to be very precise and even at lower speeds the bike rarely feels jerky, and the throttle has slightly smoothed out in the touring mode for relaxed urban navigation. An excellent view of the road is offered by an upright seating position, but over the front wheel, the weight of the bike can make navigating tight spaces and quick U-turns a bit cumbersome. I still love its attitude and lively feel.
