CMC Bobber 350

The CMC Bobber 350 has got the quintessential cruiser like the design of a traditional American custom motorcycle, which does give it a very nice stance making it stand out from the crowd. While the overall design stays true to the design ethos of a custom cruiser, the below-average fit and finish levels somehow ruin the overall show.

The CMC Bobber 350 welcomes you with its high-mounted rounded halogen headlamp, which protrudes out slightly and is encased in blacked-out housing. The amber and rounded small turn indicators are placed on the upper edges of the front forks, above which you get a single-pod instrument console (more on that later).

It is the side profile of the CMC Bobber 350 which steals the show. The motorcycle has got a low slung stance, which gives it a poised stance of a traditional cruiser. The teardrop-styled fuel tank and single-piece seat of the motorcycle are mounted on a long tubular frame, which is majorly exposed here in the design of the CMC Bobber 350.

Much of the spaces between the engine and seat and fuel tank are exposed too, which creates an impression of this being a small capacity motorcycle built to a cost. The motorcycle gets multi-spoke alloy wheels, which along with the engine of the motorcycle, are finished in a theme of black. However, the dual exhaust pipes popping out of the engine are given a full chrome treatment.

At the back, the CMC Bobber 350 has a very simple design with a conventionally curved rear fender and a small rounded tail lamp and rounded turn indicators mounted on it. The single-pod instrument console of the CMC Bobber 350 offers a basic level of information, with analogue dials for speed and odometer and basic tell-tale lights also placed within it.

For a true cruiser appeal in its ergonomics, the CMC Bobber 350 gets an upswept handlebar, which gets a chrome finish for the bar ends and rearview mirrors. The front brake and clutch levers are also painted in silver.

The CMC Bobber 350 gets a present-day suspension setup of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, with very limited adjustability setups. Like a true cruiser, the Bobber 350 also gets a larger front wheel, with the motorcycle having a 21-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel. The motorcycle rides on 90/90-21 tyre at the front and 160/80-16 tyre at the rear, both of which also add to its visual appeal of it. With 300mm discs at both ends, the CMC Bobber 350 has decent stopping power too.

The CMC Bobber 350 sources its power from a four-stroke, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 320cc engine, which is one of the most affordable two-cylinder engines in the country today. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine pumps out a maximum power output of 21.7 PS and a peak torque output of 24 Nm. While the numbers are impressive, they are pretty low for a twin-cylinder 320cc engine. However, the engine serves its purpose decently with adequate refinement and torque down the rev range.

Despite it belonging to the 300-400cc category of motorcycles, the CMC Bobber 350 lacks all the prominent safety features, including a proper dual-channel ABS, which is a big miss.

The CMC Bobber 350 tries to look like an authentic American cruiser, and while the execution for the design looks good, the not-so-impressive fit and finish levels leave a lot to be desired. However, in terms of riding appeal, the CMC Bobber 350 feels every bit a cruiser, with a relaxed riding posture and a comfortable ride quality on offer by it.
