Have owned this bike for quite a few months now and have already taken it on a cross-continental trip. Trust me, it takes on any terrain where the tarmac ends. This one is a more capable alternative to the R 1200 GS and is an inch taller, longer, and wider. The ground clearance too is higher by 0.5 inches. The suspension has 0.8 inches of additional travel which makes the bike perfect for places where roads don’t exist. The R 1200 GS Adventure gets a taller saddle. The bike’s crash guard, hand guards, and belly pans offer optimum protection on the most hostile tracks.
