Benelli TNT 300 Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
The current-generation Benelli TNT 300 is one of the oldest motorcycles in the lineup of Benelli for the Malaysian market. However, it happens to be one of the most affordable twin-cylinder motorcycles on sale in the country, which gives it the advantage of offering a big-bike appeal against similarly priced single-cylinder motorcycles. The Benelli TNT 300 is on sale in Malaysia with five colour options white, grey, silver, red and yellow.

Benelli TNT 300 Design
When the Benelli TNT 300 was launched for the first time, it had an appealing and muscular design, which made it look quite big and smart for a quarter-litre category motorcycle. However, over time, the Benelli TNT 300 hasn’t been tweaked with design updates, and in front of newer and fresher competitors, it has begun to feel dated in its visual appeal.
The Benelli TNT 300 gets a large and sharp looking headlamp surrounded by an equally sharp-looking cowl. While the headlamp might look dated with its all-halogen setup, there are clear lens LED turn indicators flanking it from behind the headlamp cowl. The front fascia also gets a black-coloured visor sitting above the main headlamp.
Move towards the side, and the Benelli TNT 300 impresses one with its muscular appeal, which is quite evident from the contours of the fuel tank. The red coloured trellis frame is exposed partially here, which stands out the most in the design of the motorcycle. The fuel tank is also accompanied by nicely curved L-shaped tank extensions, which cover the radiator of the motorcycle beneath them. The Benelli TNT 300 also gets an edgy looking cowl for the black-themed engine, from which two golden coloured pipes emerge out to a single stubby exhaust can. The petal disc brakes and multi-spoke alloy wheels further make the Benelli TNT 300 look nicer and more premium.
The Benelli TNT 300 gets a nicely flowing tailpiece, which ends up with a small LED tail lamp at the back, with large split pillion grab rails placed above it. The TNT 300 gets a well-contoured long single seat, which is very comfortable and roomy for even the pillion rider. There is a large functional rear fender on which the LED turn indicators are mounted.
The Benelli TNT 300 has a wide-looking rider’s cockpit with a wide handlebar and a part-digital instrument console sitting in the middle behind it. This console is a combination of a rounded analogue tachometer and a rectangular LCD dash with orange backlit, which displays a speedometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge and clock.
TNT 300 Ride & Handling
Even the rest of the mechanical hardware of the Benelli TNT 300 is quite premium for its segment. The TNT 300 is based on a steel trellis frame and gets a suspension combination of upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks with 135mm travel at the front and an offset oil-damped mono-shock with 45mm travel at the rear. Armed with dual petal disc brakes at the front and a single petal disc brake at the rear, the Benelli TNT 300 weighs 183 kg, which makes it a bit heavier motorcycle for its size.
Benelli TNT 300 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Benelli TNT 300 gets the smallest twin-cylinder engine from the Benelli family, which is a four-stroke, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 300cc engine. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, this 300cc engine is capable of putting up a maximum power output of 38 PS and a maximum torque output of 27.4 Nm. These figures do make the Benelli TNT 300 one of the most powerful quarter-litre motorcycles you can buy in the country today. This engine is also popular for its throaty exhaust note.
TNT 300 Braking & Safety
The Benelli TNT 300 is equipped only with a dual-channel ABS as standard.
Benelli TNT 300 Verdict
The Benelli TNT 300 might look like a dated proposition in today’s times, due to lack of features and an old design that hasn’t seen any changes for years now. However, the motorcycle still proves to be an appealing package with its powerful parallel-twin engine and decent riding dynamics. It still has got a big bike appeal for a 250-300cc motorcycle, which even some latest motorcycles in this space miss out on.
