Zeeho AE8 S+ EV launched in Malaysia—0 to 50 kmph in 2.6 seconds, 100 km range

KUALA LUMPUR: CFMoto’s sub-brand Zeeho has launched a new electric scooter in Malaysia, called the Zeeho AE8 S+. It is a high-performance and urban-style electric motorcycle that seems to redefine the standards in city commuting.

The Zeeho AE8 S+ is priced at RM 18,888 (on the road, without insurance). The price includes a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects.

What does the Zeeho AE8 S+ bring to the table?

Z-Core mid-motor

The EV is powered by a mid-mounted electric motor which delivers a maximum power of 17 PS and a peak torque of 218 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a belt drive system, enabling the scooter to run from zero to 50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds. This quiet and agile two-wheeled machine surpasses the standards of a 150cc petrol scooter and rivals that of 250cc ones.

The Zeeho AE8 S+ offers three riding modes—Eco, Street, and Sport—to help riders adjust driving dynamics according to their preferences and road conditions.

High-performance battery

The scooter features a cutting-edge 69V27Ah dual portable pack, which offers a driving range of  100 km (WMTC). According to the automaker, the battery is built to handle rigorous conditions and ensure reliability in any environment. It can charge in just 5 hours (0-80%) using a 750W charger.

Smart Ride-Assist software

The all-new Zeeho scooter comes equipped with cruise control, ensuring a smooth and steady ride. The Smart Ride-Assist software offers Over-Speeding Alert, Low Voltage Alert, Overheating Aler, and Emergency Text Notifications.

Striking lights all-around

At the front of the scooter lies the split automatic LED headlights, which can automatically turn on and off according to the ambient brightness. The turn signals have a three-dimensional hollow shape with thick-walled light guide tech offering a car-level signal effect. The rear gets an integrated stealth light that glows when the brakes are applied.

5-inch TFT display

The dashboard comprises a clear and intuitive 5-inch TFT display that is compatible with the ZEEHO RIDE App, offering smart connectivity. The system supports over-the-air updates. 

Chassis, suspension, and braking

The AE8 S+ boasts a durable CMT-made steel alloy frame and a lightweight aluminium swingarm. It rides on 12-inch wheels wrapped with 100/80 front and 120/70 rear tyres.

The suspension setup contains hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and a preload-adjustable shock absorber at the rear. Handling the braking duties are Brembo dual-piston calipers and a Bosch ABS. It can stop the scooter from 60 kmph to 0 in just 25 meters.
