Yamaha's upcoming electric vehicles range - Neo, E01, B01, and e-bikes
KUALA LUMPUR: As we step ahead on the way to electric mobility, we are witnessing the rollout of new electric vehicles every now and then. Recently, the Japanese two-wheeler giant Yamaha introduced us to its range of electric scooters and e-bikes that it will be launching in the near future.

Yamaha Neo’s electric scooter
Yamaha offers the petrol-powered Neo scooter in the international market for quite some time now. And, now it has decided to rename its E02 electric scooter concept (revealed in 2019) as ‘Neo’. In the latest form, the concept looks funkier and boasts distinctive twin LED headlights with curvy body panels.
Yamaha has confirmed the upcoming Neo e-scooter will use removable batteries and will offer output equal to that of a 50-cc petrol-powered scooter. The automaker has plans to launch this scooter in Europe this year.
Yamaha E01 Concept electric scooter concept
The Japanese automaker also unveiled the latest version of the E01 Concept during the event. This electric scooter will have a performance similar to a 125-cc petrol-powered scooter. Although, we will not be seeing this one on the roads anytime soon as Yamaha will launch it in 2025. Currently, the company is planning for its pilot run in Europe, using it as a shared mobility transport option.
Yamaha B01 electric moped concept
Another EV concept introduced on the big stage was Yamaha B01 electric moped concept. Yamaha developed this model in association with Fantic Motor and Motori Minarelli. Offering the convenience of an electric bike and the performance of an electric scooter, the B01 is expected to hit the roads in early 2023.
Yamaha e-bikes
Yamaha also introduced three e-bikes, one for road use, the second for the urban jungle, and the third one for hilly terrains. While the automaker kept numb on revealing their specs, these are said to be the rebranded products from Fantic. The Yamaha e-bikes will be soon available in the Old Continent.
